COMMUNITY ISSUES

2008 Bond Election (Reclaimed Water Pipeline) - August 13 - The next Parks & Recreations Sub-Committee meeting date is September 6, 2007. Visit their web site for more information. Please attend and voice your support for the projects benefitting Rincon Valley.

July 25 - The possibility of having a reclaimed water pipeline extended to Rincon Valley is being considered by Pima County. The intent is to use reclaimed water -- instead of our precious ground- and surface waters -- for the current Del Lago golf course and any other future golf courses that may be developed in Rincon Valley. It would also help to offset the loss of water to the Pima County sewage system, which is what happens with all of the homes that are connected to sewer (rather than septic). Please take a moment to review the information provided on our Community Issues page (link at left). If you support bringing reclaimed water to Rincon Valley, we strongly encourage you to participate in the public review and comment process. If the proposal doesn't get accepted at this and future review stages, then it won't even appear on the 2008 ballot. For more detailed information:

How to Participate:
  1. Attend public meetings and speak in favor of the issue(s) during the call to the public at the end of the meeting. They allow one minute and are very strict about this. Be sure to check for meetings of both the Advisory Committee and the Parks & Recreation Subcommittee. Links to each are provided above.

  2. Write letter(s) of support and collect them from others, too. Try to focus on the criteria adopted by Parks and Recreation (link above). Send them to District 4 Supervisor Ray Carroll and Pima County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry. If you attend the public meeting(s), take 12 copies of each letter with you -- one for each sub-committee member and one for the Chuck Huckleberry's office. If you do not want to make that many copies of each letter you may send them to Nicole Fyffe at bondinfo@pima.gov.
